5 Truths Of Mankind

Ask these questions to yourself. These are the five major questions one must ask himself. If one understands the answers correctly he has achieved the meaning of his existance.

1) WHO ARE WE?

2) WHERE DO WE COME FROM?

3) WHY ARE WE HERE?

4) WHERE DO WE HAVE TO GO?

5) WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO?

Who are We?

We are mu’min. A mu’min means inspirer of faith. One who accepts his faith and acts accordingly.

A mu’min is judged by his actions.

His calls to Allah(SWT) when he is pain, The love of Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.S) and his Wasi Hazrat Ali(A.S), Ahla al Bayt and their progency.

A mu’min is one who embraces his true religion and perform what he is ordered by

Allah(SWT) and the Holy prophet.

Where do We come from?

The book of Allah(SWT), the Holy Qur’an, states that we all were a part of Jannat before we were in a human form.

Most possibilities proves the incident of Adam and Hawwa in the Jannat as for that we were created in order to do good deeds, to pass this life as a test and fulfill the teachings of Allah(SWT).

Why are we here?

“Blessed is He in whose hand is the kingdom (of the heavens and the earth), and He has power over all things, Who created death and life that He may try you, (to prove) which of you is best in deeds”. (Surah-al-Mulk: 1-2).

This Ayat of Qur’an states that Allah(SWT) the Almighty has created this life for us as a test to perform tasks so that he may judge us according to our deeds in the hereafter.

This world is material and it has to end one day.

We have to prepare for the hereafter which is never ending life as Allah(SWT) promises.

So we have to make a right choice so that we may be able to stand in front of the Holy Prophet(S.A.W.S) and the most dearest man closer to Allah(SWT), Ali(A.S).

Where do We have to Go?

We are in this world so that Allah(SWT) the Almighty might test us who is the best in deeds.

As mentioned by the Holy Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.S): “O Ali, You and your Shias are the

Winners of Paradise”. This states that we are destined to go to Jannat after the judgement by

Allah(SWT). This life is truly a journey and the most noble and humble and the good doers will

be at the high position in paradise.

Why do We have to Go?

“Inna Lillahe wa Inna Ilaihe Raje’oon".

“We are from Him(SWT), and to him(SWT) we have to return.”

Our home is Paradise.

We are out here in this world for a long journey.

Our good deeds and love towards Allah(SWT), his Prophet(S.A.W.S) and his Ahla al Bayt are the weapons in this world.

After death we will be in our original form as we were before birth.

This clears the proof of the Journey of this world as well as the Hereafter.

Make Your Choice

What is Islam?

It is indeed a religion founded on truth.

It is such a fountain-head of learning that several streams of wisdom and knowledge flow from it.

It is such a lamp that several lamps will be lit from it.

It is a lofty beacon of light Illuminating the path of Allah.

It is such a set of principles and beliefs that will fully satisfy every seeker of truth and reality
Know you all that Allah has made Islam, the most sublime path for the attainment of His supreme pleasure and the highest standard of his worship and obedience.

He has favoured it with noble precepts, exalted principles, undoubtable arguments, unchallengeable supremacy and undeniable wisdom.

It is up to you to maintain the eminence and dignity granted to it by the Lord, to follow it sincerely,to do justice to its articles of faith and belief, to obey implicitly its tenets and orders and to give it the proper place in your lives.

The first converts of Islam - many men of very humble origins bore with fortitude and courage the hardships perpetuated by Quresh chieftains opposed to the teachings of RASULALLAH (S.A.)

The hills of RAMDHA and the place called BAT’HA became scenes of cruel tortures. BILAL the first Moazzin of Islam was taken each day to Bat’ha by his master Ommeya, son of Khalf, when the heat of the sun was greatest and there exposed him bare back, with his face to the burning sun, and placed on his chest, a large block of stone with the words — “thou shalt remain until thou art dead or thou has abjured Islam”

BILAL HAD MADE THE CHOICE

He would answer dying with thirst and under immense pain - ‘Ahdun - Ahdun’ that is one (Allah) one.

KHOBAIB BIN ADI was put to death by mutilation and cutting off his flesh piece meal. In the midts of his tortures, being asked wheather he did not wish Mohammad (S.A.) in his place

KHOBAIB HAD MADE THE CHOICE

He answered to the heathen Quraish “I would not wish to be with my family, my substance, and my children, on condition that Mohammad (S.A.) was only to be pricked with a thorn.”

When Rasulallah (S.A.) did Hijrat from Mecca Moazzamah and arrived at Medina, he performed an act, unparalleled in history. He assembled the Ansars and to the care of each of them, he entrusted the Muhajereens, who were bereft of their possesion and livelihood.

THE ANSARS HAD MADE THE CHOICE

They readily agreed to take care of their brethren although their own means were limited, and were themselves living a frugal life. They did not show their preference, but gladly took into their fold those whom Rasulallah (S.A.) entrusted.

Likewise, numerous incidents and events may be sighted from the glorious lives of Ahle - Baite Rasulallah (S.A.)

The last mubarak safar of IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) to Karbala is full of events where the followers of IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) had shown exemplary courage and conviction in their belief -

THAT THEY HAD MADE THE CHOICE

During the course of journey IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) calls ZOHER BIN KAIN who is travelling in another caravan. The messenger of Imam (S.A.) comes at a time when Zoher is having lunch. He immediately leaves the thal, comes in the presence of Imam (S.A.)

ZOHER BIN QAIN HAD MADE THE CHOICE

He immediately joins with the Karbala bound caravan. He returns to his people, divorces his wife making ample provisions for her, distributes his possession amongst his family, and rushes back to become SAHEED in the path of Allah.

On the night of ASHURA Imam Husain (S.A.) assembles his Ashabe Kiram and after a moving adress tells them to leave him alone to fight Yazid and his henchmen.

AS’HABE HUSAIN (S.A.) HAD MADE THE CHOICE

We mumeneen know the answer they gave. Led by none other than ABBAS-E-ALAMBARDAR each one got up to saythat Maula we will never ever forsake you, even if we are made to die a hundred times.

On the fateful day of Ashura when IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) rode up in front of the enemy flanks and adressed them.

HUR BIN YAZID AL-RIYAHI HAD MADE HIS CHOICE

He moved out of the yezidi flanks and fell at the kadam mubarak of Maula begging forgivness, and went on to become the frist Saheed of Karbala.

ALLAH O AKBAR WHAT A RIGHT CHOICE

SYEDI NAJAMKHAN SAHEB whose kabar is in Aurangabad, had been removed from his exalted position. Under such adverse circumstances he did not waver a bit.

SYEDI NAJAMKHAN SAHEB HAD MADE HIS CHOICE

He thawted the approaches of munafekeen by saying that ‘it is my Maula’s karam that he has kept me in his fold as a mumin.’

Countless are such events in the glorious annals of our Fatemi Dawat. I am an adna mumin and my knowledge is very limited, but ALLAH guides the one……

Déjà vu (Already Seen Vision)

Déjà vu (already seen) also called paramnesia, from Greek para, "parallel" + "memory") is the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness".

The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past. Déjà vu has been described as "remembering the future."
The experience of déjà vu seems to be very common; in formal studies 70% of people report having experienced it at least once. References to the experience of déjà vu are also found in literature of the past, indicating it is not a new phenomenon.

It has been extremely difficult to invoke the déjà vu experience in laboratory settings, therefore making it a subject of few empirical studies. Recently, researchers have found ways to recreate this sensation using hypnosis.
Scientific research In recent years, déjà vu has been subjected to serious psychological and neurophysiological research. The most likely explanation of déjà vu is that it is not an act of "precognition" or "prophecy", but rather an anomaly of memory; it is the impression that an experience is "being recalled".[citation needed] See Chris Moulin's work.

This explanation is substantiated by the fact that the sense of "recollection" at the time is strong in most cases, but that the circumstances of the "previous" experience (when, where and how the earlier experience occurred) are quite uncertain. Likewise, as time passes, subjects can exhibit a strong recollection of having the "unsettling" experience of déjà vu itself, but little to no recollection of the specifics of the event(s) or circumstance(s) they were "remembering" when they had the déjà vu experience. In particular, this may result from an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the present) and those responsible for long-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the past).

In other words, the events would be stored into memory before the conscious part of the brain even receives the information and processes it. This would explain why one is, if it ever comes to mind, powerless trying to twist the outcome of the event in order to create a paradox. The delay is only of a few milliseconds, and besides, already happened at the time the conscious of the individual is experiencing it.
Another theory being explored is that of vision. As the theory suggests, one eye may record what is seen fractionally faster than the other, creating that "strong recollection" sensation upon the "same" scene being viewed milliseconds later by the opposite eye. However, this one fails to explain the phenomenon when other sensory inputs are involved, such as the auditive part, and especially the digital part.

If one, for instance, experience déjà vu of someone slapping the fingers on his/her left hand, then the déjà vu feeling is certainly not due to his/her right hand to be late on the left one. Also, persons with only one eye still report experiencing déjà vu or déjà vecu. The global phenomenon must therefore be narrowed down to the brain itself (say, one hemisphere would be late compared to the other one).
Considerable strength is added to this interpretation by the fact that computers experience very similar effects when inputs are processed in an unexpected order. This is known as a race condition, and is often responsible for subtle bugs in complex systems. some think it has link with disorders.

A clinical correlation has been found between the experience of déjà vu and disorders such as schizophrenia and anxiety, and the likelihood of the experience considerably increases with subjects having these conditions. However, the strongest pathological association of déjà vu is with temporal lobe epilepsy. This correlation has led some researchers to speculate that the experience of déjà vu is possibly a neurological anomaly related to improper electrical discharge in the brain. As most people suffer a mild (i.e. non-pathological) epileptic episode regularly (e.g. the sudden "jolt", a hypnagogic jerk, that frequently occurs just prior to falling asleep), it is conjectured that a similar (mild) neurological aberration occurs in the experience of déjà vu, resulting in an erroneous sensation of memory It has been reported that certain recreational drugs increase the chances of déjà vu occurring in the user. Some pharmaceutical drugs, when taken together, have also been implicated in the cause of déjà vu. Taiminen and Jääskeläinen (2001) reported the case of an otherwise healthy male who started experiencing intense and recurrent sensations of déjà vu on taking the drugs amantadine and phenylpropanolamine together to relieve flu symptoms.

He found the experience so interesting that he completed the full course of his treatment and reported it to the psychologists to write-up as a case study. Due to the dopaminergic action of the drugs and previous findings from electrode stimulation of the brain (e.g. Bancaud, Brunet-Bourgin, Chauvel, & Halgren, 1994), Taiminen and Jääskeläinen speculate that déjà vu occurs as a result of hyperdopaminergic action in the mesial temporal areas of the brain.

Malik-ul-maut

It was early in the morning at four,

When death knocked upon a bedroom door,

Who is there? The sleeping one cried.
I'm Malakul Mawt, let me inside.

At once, the man began to shiver,
As one sweating in deadly fever,

He shouted to his sleeping wife,
Don't let him take away my life.

Please go away, O Angel of Death!
Leave me alone; I'm not ready yet.

My family on me depends,
Give me a chance, O please prepense!

The angel knocked again and again,
Friend! I'll take your life without a pain,

Tis your soul Allah requires,
I come not with my own desire.

Bewildered, the man began to cry,
O Angel I'm so afraid to die,

I'll give you gold and be your slave,
Don't send me to the unlit grave.

Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said,
Open the door; get up from your bed,

If you do not allow me in,
I will walk through it, like a Jinn.

The man held a gun in his right hand,
Ready to defy the Angel's stand.

I'll point my gun, towards your head,
You dare come in; I'll shoot you dead.

By now the Angel was in the room,
Saying, O Friend! Prepare for you doom.

Foolish man, Angels never die,
Put down your gun and do not sigh.

Why are you afraid! Tell me O man,
To die according to Allah's plan?

Come smile at me, do not be grim,
Be Happy to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame,
I had no time to take Allah's Name.

>From morning till dusk, I made my wealth,
Not even caring for my health.

Allah's command I never obeyed,
Nor five times a day I ever prayed.

A Ramadan came and a Ramadan went,
But no time had I to repent.

The Hajj was already FARD on me,
But I would not part with my money.

All charities I did ignore,
Taking usury more and more.

Sometimes I sipped my favorite wine,
With flirting women I sat to dine.

O Angel! I appeal to you,
Spare my life for a year or two.

The Laws of Quran I will obey,
I'll begin SALAT this very day.

My Fast and Hajj, I will complete,
And keep away from self-conceit.

I will refrain from usury,
And give all my wealth to charity,

Wine and wenches I will detest,
Allah's oneness I will attest.

We Angels do what Allah demands,
We cannot go against His commands.

Death is ordained for everyone,
Father, mother, daughter or son.

I'm afraid this moment is your last,
Now be reminded, of your past,

I do understand your fears,
But it is now too late for tears.

You lived in this world, two score and more,
Never did you, your people adore.

Your parents, you did not obey,
Hungry beggars, you turned away.

Your two ill-gotten, female offspring,
In nightclubs, for livelihood they sing.

Instead of making more Muslims,
You made your children non-Muslims.

You ignored the Mua'dhin Adhaan,
Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life,
Backbiting friends, and causing strife.

>From hoarded goods, great profits you made,
And your poor workers, you underpaid.

Horses and cards were your leisure,
Moneymaking was your pleasure.

You ate vitamins and grew more fat,
With the very sick, you never sat.

A pint of blood you never gave,
Which could a little baby save?

O Human, you have done enough wrong,
You bought good properties for a song.

When the farmers appealed to you,
You did not have mercy, tis true.

Paradise for you? I cannot tell,
Undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.

There is no time for you to repent,
I'll take your soul for which I am sent.

The ending however, is very sad,
Eventually the man became mad

With a cry, he jumped out of bed,
And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! Take moral from here,
You never know, your end may be near

Change your living and make amends
For heaven, on your deeds depends.

QUR'AN - E - PAK..

The Qur’an is the central religious text of Islam. Muslims believe the Qur’an to be the book of divine guidance and direction for mankind, and consider the original Arabic text to be the final revelation of God. Islam holds that the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad by the angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) over a period of 23 years.

Muslims regard the Qur’an as the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with those revealed to Adam, regarded in Islam as the first prophet, and continued with the Suhuf-i-Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham), the Tawrat (Torah), the Zabur (Psalms), and the Injeel (Gospel).

The Qur'an itself expresses that it is the book of guidance. Therefore it rarely offers detailed accounts of historical events; the text instead typically placing emphasis on the moral significance of an event rather than its narrative sequence.

The Qur’an was written down by Muhammad's companions while he was alive, although the prime method of transmission was oral. It was compiled in the time of Ali Ibn Abi Talib, the son in law and nepew of Prophet Muhammed.

Muhammad emigrated to Medina and formed an independent Muslim community, he ordered a considerable number of the companions (sahaba) to recite the Qur’an and to learn and teach the laws which were being revealed daily. Companions who engaged in the recitation of the Qur’an were called qurra'. Since most sahaba were unable to read or write, they were ordered to learn from the prisoners-of-war the simple writing of the time.

Thus a group of sahaba gradually became literate. As it was initially spoken, the Qur’an was recorded on tablets, bones and the wide flat end of date palm fronds. Most chapters were in use amongst early Muslims since they are mentioned in numerous sayings by both Sunni and Shia sources, relating Muhammad's use of the Qur'an as a call to Islam, the making of prayer and the manner of recitation. However, the Qur’an did not exist in book form at the time of Muhammad's death in 632.

Most Muslims today use printed editions of the Qur’an. There are many editions, large and small, elaborate or plain, expensive or inexpensive. Bilingual forms with the Arabic on one side and a gloss into a more familiar language on the other are very popular.

Qur’ans are produced in many different sizes. Most are of a reasonable book size, but there exist extremely large Qur’ans.

Qur’ans were first printed from carved wooden blocks, one block per page. There are existing specimen of pages and blocks dating from the 10th century AD. Mass-produced less expensive versions of the Qur’an were later produced by lithography, a technique for printing illustrations. Qur’ans so printed could reproduce the fine calligraphy of hand-made versions.

"The Qur'an possesses an external appearance and a hidden depth, an exoteric meaning and an esoteric meaning. This esoteric meaning in turn conceals an esoteric meaning (this depth possesses a depth, after the image of the celestial Spheres which are enclosed within each other). So it goes on for seven esoteric meanings (seven depths of hidden depth)."

The Qur'an has sparked a huge body of commentary and explication, known as tafsir. This commentary is aimed at explaining the "meanings of the Qur’anic verses, clarifying their import and finding out their significance." and best tafseer is done by Allah himself.

Because the Qur’an is spoken in classical Arabic, many of the later converts to Islam (mostly non-Arabs) did not always understand the Qur’anic Arabic, they did not catch allusions that were clear to early Muslims fluent in Arabic and they were concerned with reconciling apparent conflict of themes in the Qur’an.

Commentators erudite in Arabic explained the allusions, and perhaps most importantly, explained which Qur’anic verses had been revealed early in Muhammad's prophetic career, as being appropriate to the very earliest Muslim community, and which had been revealed later.

Islamic scholars believe that the Qur’an is miraculous by its very nature in being a revealed text and that similar texts cannot be written by human endeavor. Its miraculous nature is claimed to be evidenced by its literary style, suggested similarities between Qur’anic verses and scientific facts discovered much later, and various prophecies. The Qur’an itself challenges those who deny its claimed divine origin to produce a text like it.

14 different Arabic letters form 14 different sets of “Qur’anic Initials” (the "Muqatta'at", such as A.L.M. of 2:1) and prefix 29 suras in the Qur’an. The meaning and interpretation of these initials is considered unknown to most Muslims.

ALHAMDOLILLAH....

Angels Of ALLAH

Angels are a part of the world of the Unseen which we cannot comprehend. They are created from light. They were created before mankind for certain, because the Qur’aan says (interpretation of the meaning): "Behold, your Lord said to the angels: ‘I will create a vicegerent on earth.’ . . ." [al-Baqarah 2:30].

The greatest of all the angels is Jibreel (Gabriel), Peace be upon Him.

The Messenger of Allah saw Jibreel in his true form. He had six hundred wings, each of which covered the horizon. There fell from his wings jewels, pearls and rubies, only Allah knows about them.

The Messenger of Allah said, describing Jibreel: "I saw Jibreel descending from heaven, and his great size filled the space between heaven and earth." (Reported by Muslim, no. 177).

Among the greatest angels are those who carry the Throne (of Allah).

"Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels messengers with wings - two, or three, or four (pairs) adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things." [Faatir 35:1].

"He [the Prophet] has been taught by one Mighty in Power, Dhoo Mirrah (free from any defect in body and mind), then he rose and became stable." [al-Najm 53:5-6].

The angels are not all of one size or status; there are differences between them just as there are differences in virtue.

The angels are many, and their number is known only to Allah.

"The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Hell will be brought forth that day by means of seventy thousand ropes, each of which will be pulled by seventy thousand angels."

"Say: Whoever is an enemy to Jibreel - for he brings down the (revelation) to your heart by Allah’s will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings to those who believe - Whoever is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and prophets, to Jibreel and Mikaa’eel - Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith." [al-Baqarah 2:97-98].

Some of the names of Angels:

(1) Jibra'eel (Gabriel)

(2) Mikaa'eel (Michael)

(3) Israafeel

(4) Izraa'eel

(5) Malik(The Keeper of Hell)

(6) Munkar

(7) Nakeer

(8) Haaroot

(9) Maaroot

The angels have great powers given to them by Allah. The ability to take on different forms. Allah has given the angels the ability to take on forms other than their own. Allah sent Jibreel to Maryam (Mary) in the form of a man, as Allah says:

". . . Then We sent to her Our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects." [Maryam 19:17]

Angels also came to Ibraaheem in human form, and he did not know that they were angels until they told him so. Similarly, angels came to Lut in the form of young men with beautiful faces. Jibreel used to come to the Prophet in different forms.

The greatest speed known to man today is the speed of light; the angels are able to travel much faster than this. Hardly had an enquirer completed a question to the Prophet , but Jibreel would bring the answer from Allah.

Among the angels is one whose task it was to convey the revelation from Allah to His Messengers; this is al-Rooh al-Ameen, Jibril, upon whom be peace.

Another is responsible for rain, directing it wherever Allah wishes. This is Mikaa’eel, upon whom be peace. He has helpers, who do what he tells them, by the command of his Lord; they direct the winds and clouds, as Allah wills.

Another is responsible for blowing the Trumpet, which will be blown by Israafeel at the onset of the Hour (the Day of Judgement).

Another is responsible for taking people’s souls: these are the Angel of Death and his helpers. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): "Say: ‘the Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls, then shall you be brought back to your Lord.’" [al-Sajdah 32:11]. This is Izraa'eel.

For each (person), there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah. Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people so long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sin and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah). But when Allah wills a people’s punishment, there can be no turning back of it, and they will find besides Him no protector." [al-Ra‘d 13:10-11]

Others are responsible for recording the deeds of man, good and bad. These are the "honourable scribes" (kiraaman kaatibeen) and are referred to in the aayaat (interpretation of the meanings):

". . . and He sends guardians (angels guarding and writing all of one’s good and bad deeds) over you . . ." [al-An‘aam 6:61]

Some of them are the keepers of Hell, the "guards of Hell", whose number is nineteen and whose leader is Malik, upon whom be peace.

Some angels carry the Throne of Allah, as He describes in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning):

"Those (angels) who bear the Throne (of Allah) and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) (saying): ‘Our Lord! You comprehend all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and save them from the torment of the blazing Fire!’" [Ghaafir 40:7]

There are also angels standing in rows, who never get tired or sit down, and others who bow or prostrate, and never raise their heads.

ALHAMDOLILLAH.....

Journey of The Judgement Day (Qayamat).

“That Day, a man shall flee from his brother; from his mother and his father; from his wife and his children. For on that Day, every man will have enough to make him indifferent to others.” (Quran 80:34-37)

Allah says, “By My Glory and Majesty, I will not give My slave two securities and two terrors. If he feels secure from Me in the world, I will instill fear in him on the Day when I gather My slaves together; and if he fears Me in the world, I will make him feel safe on the Day when I gather My slaves together.”

“Unquestionably, for the allies of God there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve: those who believed and used to fear God (in this life); for them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words of God. Indeed in that is the great success.” (Quran 10:62-64).

When all humans ever created are gathered to stand naked and uncircumcised on a great plain under the ferocious scorching heat of the Sun, an elite group of pious men and women will be shaded under the Throne of God. The Prophet Muhammad foretold just who these fortunate souls will be, on that Day when no other shade will avail:

. a just ruler who did not abuse his power, but established divinely revealed justice among people

· a young man who grew up worshipping his Lord and controlled his desires in order to remain chaste

· those who hearts were attached to the Mosques, longing to return every time they left them

· those who loved one another for God’s sake

· those who were tempted by seductively beautiful women, but their fear of God stopped them from sinning

· the one who spent in charity sincerely for God’s sake, keeping their charity secret

· the one who wept out of God’s fear in solitude

Specific acts of worship will also keep people safe on that day, namely:

· efforts in this world to relieve the woes of the distressed, to help the needy, and to overlook the mistakes of others will relieve people’s own distress on Judgment Day

· leniency shown to the indebted

· the just who are fair to their families and matters entrusted to them

· controlling anger

· whoever calls to prayer

· growing old while in a state of Islam

· performing ritual ablution (wuzu’) regularly and properly

· those who fight alongside Jesus son of Mary against the Anti-Christ and his army

· martyrdom

God will bring the believer close to Him, shelter him, cover him, and ask him about his sins. After acknowledging his sins he will believe he is doomed, but God will say:

“I concealed it for you in the world, and I forgive it for you this Day.”

He will be rebuked for his shortcomings, but will then be handed his record of good deeds in his right hand.

“Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will be judged with an easy account and return to his people in happiness.” (Quran 84:7-8)

“So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, ‘Here, read my record! Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account.’ So he will be in a pleasant life – in an elevated Garden, its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. [He will be told], ‘Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.’” (Quran 69:19-24)

The record of good deeds will then be weighed, literally, to determine whether it outweighs the person’s record of bad deeds, and so that reward or punishment be meted out accordingly.

“And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [any deed even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We to take account.” (Quran 21:47)

“So whoever worked even an atom’s weight of good will see (the good fruits of his labor).” (Quran 99:7)

“The heaviest thing that will be placed in a person’s Balance on the Day of Resurrection [after the testimony of Faith] is good manners, and God hates the obscene, immoral person.” (Al-Tirmidhi).

The believers in Islam – both the sinful amongst them and the pious – as well as the hypocrites will be left in the great plain after the unbelievers are driven to Hell. A long bridge traversing the Hellfire and engulfed in darkness will separate them from Paradise.

The faithful will take strength and comfort in their swift crossing over the roaring fires of Hell and in the ‘light’ that God will place in front of them, guiding them to their eternal home:

“On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right, [it will be said], ‘Your good tidings today are of gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally.’ Indeed in that is the great success.” (Quran 57:12)

Finally, after crossing the bridge, the faithful will be purified before they are entered into Paradise. All scores between believers will be settled so that no one man nurses a grudge against another.

Journey In the Grave (Kabr).

The Beginning :

When a believer is about to depart this world, angels with white faces come down from the heavens and say:

“O peaceful soul, come out to forgiveness from God and His pleasure.”

The believer will look forward to meeting his Creator, as the Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, explained:

“…when the time of the death of a believer approaches, he receives the good news of God’s pleasure with him and His blessings upon him, and so at that time nothing is dearer to him than what lies ahead of him. He therefore loves meeting God, and God loves meeting him.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)

The soul peacefully passes out of the body like a drop of water which emerges from a water-skin, and the angels take hold of it:

The angels gently extract it, saying:

“…Do not fear and do not grieve, but receive good tidings of the Paradise which you were promised. We were your allies in this worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter, and you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish], as a hospitality from the Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran 41:30-32)

Once extracted from the body, the angels wrap the soul in a shroud smelling of musk and ascend up to the heavens. As the Gates of Heaven open for the soul, the angels greet it:

“A good soul has come from the earth, may God bless you and the body you used to dwell in.”

…introducing it with the best names it was called with in this life. God commands his “book” to be recorded, and the soul is returned back to earth.

The soul then remains in a place of limbo in its grave, called the Barzakh, awaiting the Day of Judgment. Two fearsome, dread-inspiring angels called Munkar and Nakeer visit the soul to ask it about its religion, God, and prophet. The believing soul sits upright in its grave as God grants it the strength to answer the angels with full faith and certainty.

Munkar and Nakeer: “What is your religion?”

Believing soul: “Islam.”

Munkar and Nakeer: “Who is your Lord?”

Believing soul: “Allah.”

Munkar and Nakeer: “Who is your Prophet?” (or “What do you say about this man?”)

Believing soul: “Muhammad.”

Munkar and Nakeer: “How did you come to know these things?”

Believing soul: “I read the Book of Allah (i.e. the Quran) and I believed.”

Then, when the soul passes the test, a voice from the heavens will call out:

“My slave has spoken the truth, supply him with furnishings from Paradise, clothe him from Paradise, and open a gate for him to Paradise.”

The believer’s grave is made roomy and spacious and filled with light. He is shown what would have been his abode in Hell - had he been a wicked sinner - before a portal is opened for him every morning and evening showing him his actual home in Paradise. Excited and full of joyful anticipation, the believer will keep asking: ‘When will the Hour (of Resurrection) come?! When will the Hour come?!’ until he is told to calm down.
