Mubahala

Mission: Mubahala

The Prophet (S) goes for Mubahala
Towards the close of the ninth year of Hijra, embassies from all
parts of Arabia came uninterruptedly to the Holy Prophet at
Medina, to profess Islam and to declare the adherence of their
tribes to Prophet Muhammad(S). (Mention is made in the Holy
Qur’an as below about this in Sura An-Nasr (Succor, Divine
support)

When there comes the help of Allah and the victory, And you see
men entering the religion of Allah in companies, Then celebrate
the praise of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness; surely He is
oft-returning (to mercy).
(Quran, Surah an-Nasr (110) , Verses 1-3 Until now, the Christians of Najran (a city in the province of Yemen) had kept themselves aloof. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W)
sent a letter, inviting them to embrace Islam. In response to that
letter the Christians counseled among themselves the course of
their action and did ultimately send a representative deputation
of fourteen members to Medina to study the facts pertaining to
Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) and his mission. Three Christian
scholars, viz. Abdul Maseeh Aaquib, Saiyed and Abdul Haris,
headed the deputation.

When these deputies reached Medina, they changed their
clothes, which they had worn on the journey, dressed themselves
in silken garments, put rings of gold on their fingers, and went to
the mosque to greet the Holy Prophet(S). All of them greeted the
Prophet(S) traditionally, but the Apostle of God(S) did not
respond and turned his face away from them.
They left the mosque and approached Osman and Abdul
Rahman Ibn Auf, complaining "your Apostle wrote to us and
invited us, but when we went to see him and wished him, he
neither reciprocated our wishes nor replied to us. Now what do
you advise us to do? Should we go back or wait for another
opportunity?" Osman and Abdul Rehman could not comprehend
the situation. At last they took the disputes to Ali(A), who
advised them to remove the clothes of silk and the rings of gold
that they were wearing and to put on their priestly robes. The
Holy Prophet(S) would then willingly see them.
Thereupon the Christian delegates changed into humble
garments and presented themselves to the Apostle(S) who then
responded to their salutations and said, "By the Lord who has
appointed me His Messenger, when they first came to me they
were accompanied by Satan".

Thereafter the Apostle(S) preached to them and requested them
to accept Islam. They asked, "What is your opinion about Jesus
Christ?" The Apostle(S) said, "You may rest today in this city
and after being refreshed you will receive the replies to all your
questions from me."
The Apostle was awaiting a revelation in this matter, and the
next day the verses of the Holy Qur’an Sura No.3 (Al-e-Imraan)
verses 59-60 were revealed to him to show the true position of
Jesus Christ.
Surely the likeness of Jesus is with Allah as the likeness of
Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him ‘Be’, and he
was. (This is) the truth from your Lord, so be not of the
disputers.
(Quran, Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3), Verses 59-60)
When they reappeared before the Holy Prophet(S), The Holy
Prophet(S) recited the above verses before the visiting Christians
explaining that Christ was a Prophet like Adam(A) and like
Adam(A), created from dust and therefore could not be the son
of God. After this, the Holy Prophet(S) invited them to embrace
Islam. The Christians remained obstinate and refused to be
convinced by anything. Thereupon the following verse No. 61
from Sura No.3 was revealed:
But whoever disputes with you in this matter after what has
come to you of knowledge, then say: Come let us call our sons
and your sons and our women and your women and ourselves
and yourselves, then let us be earnest in prayer, and invoke the
curse of Allah on the liars.
(Quran, Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3), Verse 61)
Now the Holy Prophet(S) reproduced the Quranic verse before
the deputation of the Christians and declared the challenge of
‘Mubahala’. The term ‘Mubahala’ is derived from its Arabic
root ‘Bahlah’ meaning ‘curse’. Thus the word ‘Mubahala’
literally means cursing each other. The Christians consulted
each other and ultimately announced their acceptance of the
challenge.

Early next morning the Holy Prophet (S) sent Salman al
Farsi(A) to the open place, fixed outside the city for the historic
event, to erect a small shelter for himself and those he intended
to take along with him for the contest. However, it was on the
morning of 24th Zilhajj that the Holy Prophet(A) emerged at the
appointed time and place, from his sacred abode with Imam
Hussain(A) in his arms and holding Imam Hasan(A)’s hand and
Janab-e-Fatima(A) followed by Hazrat Ali(A) (styled as the
Holy Panjetan). The Holy Prophet(S) then directed them to utter
"Ameen" when he prayed to God.

No sooner had the sacred caravan of the Holy Prophet(S)
appeared to the sight of the opposing group of the Christians of
Najran then they were awestruck and spellbound. Abdul Haris
lbne Alqama, the greatest scholar among them, addressed his
people:

"Verily I see a divine light on the face of our combatants; I am
beholding such faces among them as can make the mountains
move from their spots if they pray to God. So beware! Never try
to contest with them, otherwise you will perish and the entire
nation of Christians will succumb to extinction!"

Thereupon the Holy Prophet(S) reiterated, "By God! Had the
Christians of Najran contested with us, they would have been
transformed into monkeys and swans. Fire would have rained
over them from the sky and they would have been doomed."
When the Christians refrained from ‘Mubahala’, the Holy
Prophet(S) put before them two alternatives: either to embrace
Islam or to be prepared to come to terms. But the Christians
would not agree till the matter was finally decided by an offer of
treaty from their side. Thus a peace treaty was signed on the
terms that the Christians of Najran would thereby be committed
to pay the Holy Prophet(S) an annual tribute consisting of two
thousand costumes-worth: forty thousand Dinars, thirty horses,
thirty camels, thirty armors and thirty spears. (Ref: Meraj-un-
Nabuwat)

Authentic Proofs are quoted below regarding the Ayat of the
Holy Qur’an-Sura 3-verse 61 as given on page 73 Imam
Fakhruddin Razi writes in his Tafseer-e-Kabeer (volume 2):
"When this verse was revealed to the Holy Prophet(S), the
Christians of Najran accepted the challenge of ‘Mubahala’ and
the Holy Prophet took along with him Imam Hussain, Imam
Hasan, Janab-e-Fatima and Hazrat Ali to the field of Mubahala."
To quote Allama Zamakhshari in his ‘Tafseer-e-Kashshaf’.

"There can be no more authentic and stronger evidence for the
integrity of Ashab-e-Kisa, i.e., Hazrat Ali(A), Janab-e-
Fatima(A), Imam Hasan(A) and Imam Hussain(A) than this
Qur’anic verse. For in compliance with the order of God the
Holy Prophet(S) summoned his Ahl-ul-Bait(A), took
Hussain(A) in his arms, and grasped Imam Hasan(A)’s hand in
his own, asked Janab-e-Fatima(A) to follow him and Hazrat
Ali(A) to follow her. This proved that the Holy Ahl-ul-Bait(A)
were those to whom the Qur’anic verse was directed."
It is related by Soad Ibne Waqas that: "When this verse was
revealed, the Holy Prophet(S) sent for Hazrat Ali(A), Janab-e-
Fatima(A), Imam Hasan(A) and Imam Hussain(A) and prayed to
God thus: "O My God! These are the very Ahl-ul-Bait of mine!"
(Sahih Muslim. Vol. 1, Sahih Tirmizi.)

Abdullah Ibne Umar quotes the Holy Prophet(S) to have
commented:
"Had there been any soul on the whole earth better than Ali(A),
Fatima(A), Hasan(A) and Hussain(A), God would have
commanded me to take them along with me to ‘Mubahala’. But
as they were superior in dignity and respect to all human beings,
God confined His Choice on them only for participation in
‘Mubahala’". (Tasfeer-e-Baizavi)

According to some versions it is stated that on the morning of
24th Zilhajj, a large number of people thronged the door of the
Holy Prophet(S), every one anticipating his chance to be
selected for the team of ‘Mubahala’. But when the Holy
Prophet(S) emerged out of his house accompanied by his Ahlul-
Bait(A). They were all stunned.

The event of the Mubahala is important for the following
reasons:
1. It proved to be a silencing lesson for all the Christians of
Arabia who no longer dared any competition with the Holy
Prophet (S).
2. The invitation of ‘Mubahala’ was directed by God, and it
was in compliance with His Command that the Holy
Prophet took his Ahl-ul-Bait(A) along with him to the field
of ‘Mubahala’. This serves to generalize how affairs
pertaining to Apostleship and the religion of God are
determined by the Will of God; allowing no margin of
interference from the common people (Ummat). The matter
of Hazrat Ali(A)’s succession followed by eleven
Imam(A)s to the office of religious leadership should be
viewed in this perspective.
3. The indispensability of Hazrat Ali(A), Janab-e-Fatima(A),
Imam Hasan(A) and Imam Hussain(A) in following the
precepts of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) could no longer be
disputed.
4. That notwithstanding their childhood, Imam Hasan(A) and
Imam Hussain(A) did nevertheless, serve as the active
partners of the Holy Prophet(S) in the field of ‘Mubahala’.
This yields the conclusion that age is no criteria for the
greatness of the infallibles (Masoomeen). They are born
adorned with virtues and knowledge.
5. That the Holy Prophet’s act of having preferred a few
obviously elevates their status above all others.
As Islam had emerged triumphantly against Christianity on the
occasion of ‘Mubahala’, this day assumes the significance of an
Eid day in Islamic history.
Why was Imam Ali(A) included?
The Almighty commanded His Messenger to say to the
delegation of Najran: "Come! We will summon our Sons and
your Sons, our women and your women; and ourselves and
yourselves…."
In compliance with this command, the Prophet brought with
him, Al-Hasan and Al-Hussain, because they were the sons of
his daughter Fatima, and for this they are his sons. He brought
Fatima with him because she represents the women from the
members of his House. But why did he bring with him Imam Ali
who was neither from the sons nor from the women?

Imam Ali(A) has no place in the verse unless he is included in
the word "ourselves."

Bringing Imam Ali(A) with him indicates that the Messenger of
God(S) considered Imam Ali(A) an extension of his personality.
By considering him so, he elevated him above all the Muslims.

The Messenger(S) said on many occasions:
"Ali is from me and I am from him."
Hubshi Ibn Janadah reported that he heard the Messenger of
God, saying: "Ali is from me and I am from him, and no one
represents me but Ali."

The world of JINN

Throughout history man has always had a deep attraction for the supernatural and the unseen. The existence of a world parallel to our own has always fascinated people. This world is commonly referred to as the spirit world, and almost every set of people have some concept of one. With some people, these spirits are no more then the souls of dead people- or ghosts. With others, spirits are either the forces of good or the forces of evil - both battling against one another to gain influence over humanity. However, both of these explanations are more in tune with folk tales and fantasy. The true explanation of such a world comes from Islam. Like every other way, Islam also claims to explain this realm of the unseen. It is from this realm that Islam explains to us about the world of the Jinn. The Islamic explanation of the Jinn provides us with so many answers to modem day mysteries. Without the knowledge of this world, the Muslims would become like the non-Muslims and be running around looking for any old answer to come their way. So, who or what are the Jinn?

Existence

The Jinn are beings created with free will, living on earth in a world parallel to mankind. The Arabic word Jinn is from the verb 'Janna' which means to hide or conceal. Thus, they are physically invisible from man as their description suggests. This invisibility is one of the reasons why some people have denied their existence. However, (as will be seen) the affect which the world of the Jinn has upon our world, is enough to refute this modern denial of one of Allah's creation. The origins of the Jinn can be traced from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Allah says:

"Indeed We created man from dried clay of black smooth mud. And We created the Jinn before that from the smokeless flame of fire"
(Surah Al-Hijr 15:26-27)

Thus the Jinn were created before man. As for their physical origin, then the Prophet (saws) has confirmed the above verse when he said: "The Angels were created from light and the Jinn from smokeless fire" [1]. It is this description of the Jinn which tells us so much about them. Because they were created from fire, their nature has generally been fiery and thus their relationship with man has been built upon this. Like humans, they too are required to worship Allah and follow Islam. Their purpose in life is exactly the same as ours, as Allah says:

"I did not create the Jinn and mankind except to worship Me"
(Surah Ad-Dhariyat 51:56)

Jinns can thus be Muslims or non-Muslims. However, due to their fiery nature the majority of them are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Jinns form a part of the army of the most famous Jinn, Iblis- the Shaytan[2]. Consequently, these disbelieving Jinns are also called Shaytans (devils). As for the Jinns who become Muslims, then the first of them did so in the time of the Prophet (saws) when a group of them were amazed by the recitation of the Qur'an. Allah orders the Prophet to tell the people of this event:

"Say (O' Muhammed): It has been revealed to me that a group of Jinn listened and said; 'Indeed we have heard a marvellous Qur'an. It guides unto righteousness so we have believed in it, and we will never make partners with our lord'"
(Surah Al-Jinn 72:1-2)

In many aspects of their world, the Jinn are very similar to us. They eat and drink, they marry, have children and they die. The life span however, is far greater then ours. Like us, they will also be subject to a Final Reckoning by Allah the Most High. They will be present with mankind on the Day of Judgement and will either go to Paradise or Hell.

Abilities

That which clearly distinguishes the Jinn from mankind, are their powers and abilities. Allah has given them these powers as a test for them. If they oppress others with them, then they will be held accountable. By knowing of their powers, we can often make sense of much of the mysteries which go on around us. One of the powers of the Jinn, is that they are able to take on any physical form they like. Thus, they can appear as humans, animals trees and anything else. Over the last few years the interest in the subject of aliens and UFO's has become heightened. Programmes such as the X-files and the Outer limits have increased the popularity of the theory that aliens exist. Thousands of people have sighted strange looking creatures all over the world. These sightings however, have still not proven substantially that aliens exist. Rather - and it seems more plausible all the sightings of such creatures were just Jinns parading in different forms. So the next time you see something that looks like E.T, its most probably just a wicked Jinn trying to scare and confuse you!

The ability to possess and take over the minds and bodies of other creatures is also a power which the Jinn have utilised greatly over the centuries. This however, is something which has been prohibited to them as it is a great oppression to possess another being. Human possession is something which has always brought about great attention. But the true knowledge of this subject is rare amongst the people. Over the last 3 decades the subject of possession has become very commercialised. During the 70's films such as The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby were used to educate people about possession. However, because such institutions (the film industry) were heavily influenced by Christianity, knowledge of the subject was non-existent. Rather then educate people about Jinn possession, films such as The Exorcist just tended to scare the living daylights out of us![3] Only through Islam can we understand such a phenomena. We know as Muslims, that Jinns possess people for many reasons. Sometimes it is because the Jinn or its family has been hurt accidentally. It could be because the Jinn has fallen in love with the person. However, most of the time possession occurs because the Jinn is simply malicious and wicked. For this reason we have been told by the Prophet (saws) not to loiter in those places where the Jinns reside, e.g. graveyards, ruins, deserts, market places etc. We have also been commanded to recite the Qur'an frequently in our houses as the Prophet (saws) said: "Indeed, the shaytan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah (the 2nd chapter of the Qur'an) is recited" [4].

If a person does become possessed, then the name of Allah has to be used in expelling the Jinn. If we look at the practice of the Prophet and his companions, we find many duas (supplications) to exorcise the Jinn. All these duas invoke Allah to help the possessed person. How contrary this is to many modern-day exorcists. Many exorcists, Muslim and non-Muslim, often invoke the names of others besides Allah to exorcise the Jinn[5]. When the Jinn does leave, these people believe that their way was successful. However, this is a ploy of the Jinn, as it knows that if it obeys the exorcist, then it has succeeded in making him worship others besides Allah i.e. commit shirk. The Jinn often returns when the exorcist leaves, as it knows that nothing except the words of Allah can stop it from oppressing others.

It is not only humans which are possessed, but also animals, trees and other objects. By doing this, the evil Jinn hope to make people worship others besides Allah. The possession of idols is one way to do this. Not so long ago the world-wide phenomenon of Hindu idols drinking milk, shocked the world. From Bombay to London, Delhi to California, countless idols were lapping up milk. Ganesh[6] the elephant god, Hanuman the monkey god and even Shiva lingam, the male private organ(!), all seemed to guzzle down the milk as if there was no tomorrow! Unfortunately people were taken in by this (including Muslims) and many flocked to feed (?) the Hindu gods. Anyone who knows about Jinn possession, will undoubtedly know that this is a classic attempt to make people commit shirk. And it worked, as many people started to worship these lifeless pieces of wood and marble. Anyone with half a brain would say to themselves, 'why on earth does a god need to be fed?!! Surely if Ganesh, Hanuman or Shiva were divine then they wouldn't need feeding?' However, such common sense seemed to be lacking as the Jinns played havoc with these gullible people.

The Occult

Through their powers of flying and invisibility, the Jinn are the chief component in occult activities. Voodoo, Black magic, Poltergeists, Witchcraft and Mediums can all be explained through the world of the Jinn. Likewise, so can the illusions and feats of magicians. Because the Jinn can traverse huge distances over a matter of seconds, their value to magicians is great. In return for helping them in their magic, the Jinns often ask for the magicians to sell their souls to them and even to Iblis. Thus the magicians take the Jinn and Iblis as lords besides Allah. In our day, some of the feats performed by magicians and entertainers are without doubt from the assistance of the Jinn.

One of the most frequent activities associated with the Jinn, is fortune telling. Before the advent of the Prophet (saws) fortune-tellers and soothsayers were wide spread. These people would use their associates from the Jinn to find out about the future. The Jinns would go to the lowest heaven and listen to the Angels conversing amongst themselves about events of the Future which they heard from Allah. The Jinns would then inform the fortune-tellers. This is why before the time of the Prophet (saws) many fortune-tellers were very accurate in their predictions. However, upon the Prophet's arrival the heavens were guarded intensely by the Angels, and any Jinn who tried to listen was attacked by meteors (shooting stars):

"And We have guarded it (the heavens) from every accursed devil, except one who is able to snatch a hearing and he is pursued by a brightly burning flame"
(Surah Al-Hijr 15:18)

The Prophet (saws) also said: "They (the Jinn) would pass the information back down until it reaches the lips of a magician or forrtune-teller Sometimes a meteor would overtake them before they could pass it on. If they passed it on before being struck, they would add to it a hundred lies" [9]. Thus, it is clear from this as to how fortune-tellers get predictions of the future right. It is also evident as to why they get so many wrong. Men like Nostradamus[10] are an example, as some of his predictions of the future were correct whilst many were completely wrong. Unfortunately, the amount of fortune telling which occurs amongst the Muslims is also increasing. By visiting Muslim lands such as Morocco, one is able to see as to how much inter Jinn-fortune-teller activity there really is. If you look up at the sky on a clear night in Morocco, you will see the heavens ablaze with shooting stars! A clear display of the devils being chased away from the heavens.

Fortune-tellers also operate through the Qareen. The Qareen is the Jinn companion which is assigned to every human being. It is this Jinn which whispers to our base desires and constantly tries to divert us from righteousness. The Prophet (saws) said: "Everyone of you has been assigned a companion from the Jinn. The companions asked: Even you O' Messenger of Allah? And the Prophet replied: Even me, except that Allah has helped me against him and he has submitted. Now he only tells me to do good" [11]. Because the Qareen is with a person all his life, it knows all that has happened to the person from the cradle to the grave. By making contact with the Qareen, the fortune-teller is thus able to make out that it is he who knows about the person. He looks in his crystal ball or the palm of a person and proceeds to amaze him with knowledge which no one else knows[12]. The severity of going to a fortune-teller is such that the Prophet (saws) said: "The prayer of one who approaches a fortune-teller and asks him about anything, will not be accepted for forty days or nights" [13] and: "Whosoever approaches a fortune-teller and believes in what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammed" [14]

The effects of the Jinn are not just limited to fortune-tellers. Other activities such as oujia boards and seances, which are used to contact the dead, are manipulated by the Jinn. 'Are you there Charlie? Speak to us Charlie!!' are the sort of words spoken by anxious relatives (names are obviously different!) seeking to make contact with their loved ones. And it is when the Jinn starts to talk and communicate as 'Charlie', that the people are truly fooled[15].

One of the biggest manipulations of the Jinn is through visions. Through these visions the Jinns are more likely to lead people away from the worship of Allah then any other way. When a person sees a vision in front of his eyes it is something which is very hard to explain away. Only by having knowledge of the world of the Jinn and conviction in Allah, can a person fight such a trial. The countless numbers of visions of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary over the centuries has been a popular choice for the devils. It almost seems as if leading Christians astray is the most easiest trick for the Jinns! Not only are Christians fooled by these visions, but often the Jinns possess and begin to talk from their voices. To the Christians this is known as the tongues of the Angels and thus a proof for their faith. However, the amount of unintelligible nonsense and rubbish which is heard is a clear proof that this is in fact the tongues of the devils! For other people, visions of their parents or relatives are commonplace. By taking on the form of peoples parents, the Jinns can convince people that the souls of dead people still mix with the people of the earth. This is why so many people believe in ghosts.

The onslaught of satanic visions has also hit the Muslims. Many Muslims claim to have seen visions of the Prophet Muhammed (saws) and even Allah! By doing this, Shaytan is able to lead astray the weak Muslims. Through such visions, Muslims are often told that the commands of Islam are not applicable to them. The Jinns tell them that Prayer, Fasting, Hajj etc. are not obligatory for them. It is a great deception and unfortunately one which has been very effective. The extent of satanic visions still continues to this day. The recent death of Diana Princess of Wales sparked off great love and adoration for this woman. In fact the grief of the British people was such, that it was as if Diana was something divine. No sooner had the mourning of Diana reached its peak, that visions of her were already being seen at Hampton Court Palace! If these visions did occur, the desire of Iblis and his army of Jinn to capitalise on this event, was evident. Such visions are clear attempts by Iblis to lead mankind away from the path of Allah [16].

The world of the Jinn is one which is both sinister and intriguing. By knowing of this world we can explain many of the mysteries and issues which bother us. By doing this we can avoid the extremes which the people have gone to; nothing being more extreme then worshipping others besides Allah. By learning the Tawheed of Allah, we defend ourselves from these hidden allies of Iblis:

"Indeed he (Iblis) and his tribe watch you from a position where you cannot see them"
(Surah Al-A'raf 7:27)

Maybe there is a Jinn sitting in the corner of your room right now, or even one behind you. If so, then how will you deal with this creation of Allah? Learn Islam properly and you will be able to deal with all of Allah's creation - and not just the Jinn. By becoming true Muslims and followers of Islam, the fear of Iblis, Jinns and anything else will leave us - nothing will touch the Believer unless Allah wills.

2 It must be remembered that Iblis is a Jinn and not an Angel. The concept of the Devil being a fallen Angel is from Christianity and not Islam.
3 In fact when The Exorcist was first shown on cinema, it was so scary that many people fainted and one even died!

5 Whilst Christians invoke the name of Jesus, many Muslims invoke the name of pious Muslim saints! The rituals which are conducted by many Muslims are more akin to voodoo then the exorcism practised by the Prophet and his companions!!
6 Ganesh, the elephant headed deity, seemed to be the biggest drinker! In fact it didn't just stop at milk. At the time of these occurrences, a woman in India decided to see if Ganesh would drink anything else - so she offered him whiskey!! And Lo and behold Ganesh drank the Whiskey!!! Suffice to say, the woman was kicked out of India.
7 The ship which was recovered was more then 50 years old. It subsequently caught alight and was conveniently destroyed.

12 The classic example of how fortune tellers can be wrong is the case of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed. Both went to see a fortune teller who told Diana that she would live a long and happy life. A few weeks later, on August 31st 1997, Diana and Dodi Fayed were dead. After this the fortune tellers flew for cover, as their evil art showed its decadence.

Allah’s Mercy..

Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) says, “Verily the love of this world is the root-cause of every evil”.

”Think over it that by simply granting you the privilege of praying for His favors and mercy, He has handed over the keys of His treasures to you. Whenever you are in need, pray, and He gives His favors and blessings.” Hazrat Ali.

when a person's deeds will be weighed, and his bad deeds will be more than his good ones, Allah will command His Angels to throw him into hell fire. When the Angels will be taking him, he will turn around and see. Allah will ask him, “Why do you look behind”? He will reply, “O my Lord! I had never expected that you would throw me to the flames.” Allah will say, “O my Angels! I swear by my Honor and Grandeur, verily he in his life-time never ever thought of what he now says. But now when he claims to have thought so (of my mercy), I permit him to enter Paradise”.

when Allah will wish to take account of a believer (mo'min), He will give his scrolls (of deeds) in his right hand. And Allah Himself will take his accounting so that no one else may come to know about his affairs. Allah will then ask him, “O My valuable slave! Have you committed such and such acts also”? The believer will answer (in repentance), “Yes my Lord, I have committed them”. Then Allah will say, “I have forgiven your sins and have replaced them with good deeds”. People will look at him with awe in Paradise and exclaim: Glory be to Allah! Verily this person is free from all sins.

When a person sends salawat once on Him, Allah orders s thousand ranks of His Angels to send a thousand salawat on the person himself. And because of Allah and His Angels sending salawat, the whole creation sends salawat on him. And the person, who does not do so, is an arrogant and ignorant person. And Allah, His prophet, and the Holy Ahlulbait (A.S.) leaves such a person to himself.

It is written in the third volume of ‘Biharul Anwaar’ that the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) said, “Do not underestimate the Shi’ahs of Ali (A.S.), for each one of them will intercede for the people equal to the tribes of Rabi’ah and Muzar” (two great tribes of Quraysh).

Standard Position

The Length is equal to the distance of a thousand years. Its pillars will be of red rubies, and its handle of white pearls.while its flag will be of green emeralds. One flag will be swirling in the east, the second in the west, while the third one will be swirling in the middle. On it three sentences will be engraved , “In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, Merciful”, “All praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds”, and “There is no God except Allah, Mohammad (S.A.W.S.) is the Messenger of Allah, and Ali (A.S.) is the friend of Allah”. The length of each of these sentences will be equal to the length of a thousand years. Abdullah asked, “Who will be carrying this standard”? The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) replied, “The same person who in this world is my Standard-bearer viz. Ali the son of Abu Talib (A.S.)”.Abdullah replied, “verily you speak the truth. But also inform me as to who all will remain under the shelter of this standard”. He (S.A.W.S.) replied, “The believers (mo’meneen) friends Shi’as of Allah, my friends Shias, and the friends and Shi’as of Ali (A.S.).verily this position is very high. And Allah’s wrath be on the one who belies me, or argues over his (Ali’s exalted) creation by Allah”.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) says: On the day of Qayamat I will surely intercede for the following four types of people: (1) Those who respect and honor My Progeny (Ahlulbait), (2) Those who fulfill the desires of My Progeny, (3) Those who work for their cause, and (4) Those who love them from their hearts as well as by the tongue (openly and in secret).

It is stated in ‘Sawaeqe Muhriqa’ that no one will be able to pass over the Poole Serat unless he has a permit from Imam Ali (A.S.).

Regarding the love of Ahlulbait (A.S.) many traditions have been quoted in the Shi’a as well as Sunni books, that Walayah means the Love of Imam Ali (A.S.). In Tafseere Sa’labi it is written regarding the verse : “And stop them, for they shall be questioned”. (Surah- al-Saffat : 24). It is said that people will be Stopped and asked if they accepted the walayah’ of Imam Ali (A.S.) in the world and said, “Aliyyun Waliyullah”, while believing in it.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) as saying that, “o Ali ! Whoever denies your love will be stopped (from going further) over the poole Serat”.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) says : “Those people who have become forty years of age, are like crops whose time of harvesting has neared. Those who become fifty years of age hear a voice calling out : What good deeds have you sent forth before you, and what are you leaving behind you? Those who reach sixty years of age are ordered to become ready for accounting in Qayamat, and those who become seventy years of age hear a voice calling out : Count yourself among the dead”.

The Commander of the Faithful (Amirul Mo’meneen) Ali (A.S.) says, “If you could see that has been seen by those of you who have died, you would be puzzled and troubled. Then you would have listened and obeyed, but what they have seen is yet curtained from you. Shortly, the curtain would be thrown off. You have been shown, provided you see and you have been made to listen provided you listen, and you have been guided if you accept guidance”.

The Commander of the faithful Ali (A.S.) says, “O people what I fear most about you are 2 things: acting according to desires and extending of hopes. As regards acting according to desires, this prevents from truth: and as regards extending of hopes, it makes one forget the next world. You should know this world is moving rapidly and nothing has remained out of it except last particles like the remnants of a vessel which has been emptied by someone. Beware, the next world is advancing. Today is the day of action and there is no reckoning, while tomorrow is the day of reckoning but there would be no (opportunity for) action.”

5 Truths Of Mankind

Ask these questions to yourself. These are the five major questions one must ask himself. If one understands the answers correctly he has achieved the meaning of his existance.

1) WHO ARE WE?

2) WHERE DO WE COME FROM?

3) WHY ARE WE HERE?

4) WHERE DO WE HAVE TO GO?

5) WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO?

Who are We?

We are mu’min. A mu’min means inspirer of faith. One who accepts his faith and acts accordingly.

A mu’min is judged by his actions.

His calls to Allah(SWT) when he is pain, The love of Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.S) and his Wasi Hazrat Ali(A.S), Ahla al Bayt and their progency.

A mu’min is one who embraces his true religion and perform what he is ordered by

Allah(SWT) and the Holy prophet.

Where do We come from?

The book of Allah(SWT), the Holy Qur’an, states that we all were a part of Jannat before we were in a human form.

Most possibilities proves the incident of Adam and Hawwa in the Jannat as for that we were created in order to do good deeds, to pass this life as a test and fulfill the teachings of Allah(SWT).

Why are we here?

“Blessed is He in whose hand is the kingdom (of the heavens and the earth), and He has power over all things, Who created death and life that He may try you, (to prove) which of you is best in deeds”. (Surah-al-Mulk: 1-2).

This Ayat of Qur’an states that Allah(SWT) the Almighty has created this life for us as a test to perform tasks so that he may judge us according to our deeds in the hereafter.

This world is material and it has to end one day.

We have to prepare for the hereafter which is never ending life as Allah(SWT) promises.

So we have to make a right choice so that we may be able to stand in front of the Holy Prophet(S.A.W.S) and the most dearest man closer to Allah(SWT), Ali(A.S).

Where do We have to Go?

We are in this world so that Allah(SWT) the Almighty might test us who is the best in deeds.

As mentioned by the Holy Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.S): “O Ali, You and your Shias are the

Winners of Paradise”. This states that we are destined to go to Jannat after the judgement by

Allah(SWT). This life is truly a journey and the most noble and humble and the good doers will

be at the high position in paradise.

Why do We have to Go?

“Inna Lillahe wa Inna Ilaihe Raje’oon".

“We are from Him(SWT), and to him(SWT) we have to return.”

Our home is Paradise.

We are out here in this world for a long journey.

Our good deeds and love towards Allah(SWT), his Prophet(S.A.W.S) and his Ahla al Bayt are the weapons in this world.

After death we will be in our original form as we were before birth.

This clears the proof of the Journey of this world as well as the Hereafter.

Make Your Choice

What is Islam?

It is indeed a religion founded on truth.

It is such a fountain-head of learning that several streams of wisdom and knowledge flow from it.

It is such a lamp that several lamps will be lit from it.

It is a lofty beacon of light Illuminating the path of Allah.

It is such a set of principles and beliefs that will fully satisfy every seeker of truth and reality
Know you all that Allah has made Islam, the most sublime path for the attainment of His supreme pleasure and the highest standard of his worship and obedience.

He has favoured it with noble precepts, exalted principles, undoubtable arguments, unchallengeable supremacy and undeniable wisdom.

It is up to you to maintain the eminence and dignity granted to it by the Lord, to follow it sincerely,to do justice to its articles of faith and belief, to obey implicitly its tenets and orders and to give it the proper place in your lives.

The first converts of Islam - many men of very humble origins bore with fortitude and courage the hardships perpetuated by Quresh chieftains opposed to the teachings of RASULALLAH (S.A.)

The hills of RAMDHA and the place called BAT’HA became scenes of cruel tortures. BILAL the first Moazzin of Islam was taken each day to Bat’ha by his master Ommeya, son of Khalf, when the heat of the sun was greatest and there exposed him bare back, with his face to the burning sun, and placed on his chest, a large block of stone with the words — “thou shalt remain until thou art dead or thou has abjured Islam”

BILAL HAD MADE THE CHOICE

He would answer dying with thirst and under immense pain - ‘Ahdun - Ahdun’ that is one (Allah) one.

KHOBAIB BIN ADI was put to death by mutilation and cutting off his flesh piece meal. In the midts of his tortures, being asked wheather he did not wish Mohammad (S.A.) in his place

KHOBAIB HAD MADE THE CHOICE

He answered to the heathen Quraish “I would not wish to be with my family, my substance, and my children, on condition that Mohammad (S.A.) was only to be pricked with a thorn.”

When Rasulallah (S.A.) did Hijrat from Mecca Moazzamah and arrived at Medina, he performed an act, unparalleled in history. He assembled the Ansars and to the care of each of them, he entrusted the Muhajereens, who were bereft of their possesion and livelihood.

THE ANSARS HAD MADE THE CHOICE

They readily agreed to take care of their brethren although their own means were limited, and were themselves living a frugal life. They did not show their preference, but gladly took into their fold those whom Rasulallah (S.A.) entrusted.

Likewise, numerous incidents and events may be sighted from the glorious lives of Ahle - Baite Rasulallah (S.A.)

The last mubarak safar of IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) to Karbala is full of events where the followers of IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) had shown exemplary courage and conviction in their belief -

THAT THEY HAD MADE THE CHOICE

During the course of journey IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) calls ZOHER BIN KAIN who is travelling in another caravan. The messenger of Imam (S.A.) comes at a time when Zoher is having lunch. He immediately leaves the thal, comes in the presence of Imam (S.A.)

ZOHER BIN QAIN HAD MADE THE CHOICE

He immediately joins with the Karbala bound caravan. He returns to his people, divorces his wife making ample provisions for her, distributes his possession amongst his family, and rushes back to become SAHEED in the path of Allah.

On the night of ASHURA Imam Husain (S.A.) assembles his Ashabe Kiram and after a moving adress tells them to leave him alone to fight Yazid and his henchmen.

AS’HABE HUSAIN (S.A.) HAD MADE THE CHOICE

We mumeneen know the answer they gave. Led by none other than ABBAS-E-ALAMBARDAR each one got up to saythat Maula we will never ever forsake you, even if we are made to die a hundred times.

On the fateful day of Ashura when IMAM HUSAIN (S.A.) rode up in front of the enemy flanks and adressed them.

HUR BIN YAZID AL-RIYAHI HAD MADE HIS CHOICE

He moved out of the yezidi flanks and fell at the kadam mubarak of Maula begging forgivness, and went on to become the frist Saheed of Karbala.

ALLAH O AKBAR WHAT A RIGHT CHOICE

SYEDI NAJAMKHAN SAHEB whose kabar is in Aurangabad, had been removed from his exalted position. Under such adverse circumstances he did not waver a bit.

SYEDI NAJAMKHAN SAHEB HAD MADE HIS CHOICE

He thawted the approaches of munafekeen by saying that ‘it is my Maula’s karam that he has kept me in his fold as a mumin.’

Countless are such events in the glorious annals of our Fatemi Dawat. I am an adna mumin and my knowledge is very limited, but ALLAH guides the one……

Déjà vu (Already Seen Vision)

Déjà vu (already seen) also called paramnesia, from Greek para, "parallel" + "memory") is the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness".

The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past. Déjà vu has been described as "remembering the future."
The experience of déjà vu seems to be very common; in formal studies 70% of people report having experienced it at least once. References to the experience of déjà vu are also found in literature of the past, indicating it is not a new phenomenon.

It has been extremely difficult to invoke the déjà vu experience in laboratory settings, therefore making it a subject of few empirical studies. Recently, researchers have found ways to recreate this sensation using hypnosis.
Scientific research In recent years, déjà vu has been subjected to serious psychological and neurophysiological research. The most likely explanation of déjà vu is that it is not an act of "precognition" or "prophecy", but rather an anomaly of memory; it is the impression that an experience is "being recalled".[citation needed] See Chris Moulin's work.

This explanation is substantiated by the fact that the sense of "recollection" at the time is strong in most cases, but that the circumstances of the "previous" experience (when, where and how the earlier experience occurred) are quite uncertain. Likewise, as time passes, subjects can exhibit a strong recollection of having the "unsettling" experience of déjà vu itself, but little to no recollection of the specifics of the event(s) or circumstance(s) they were "remembering" when they had the déjà vu experience. In particular, this may result from an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the present) and those responsible for long-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the past).

In other words, the events would be stored into memory before the conscious part of the brain even receives the information and processes it. This would explain why one is, if it ever comes to mind, powerless trying to twist the outcome of the event in order to create a paradox. The delay is only of a few milliseconds, and besides, already happened at the time the conscious of the individual is experiencing it.
Another theory being explored is that of vision. As the theory suggests, one eye may record what is seen fractionally faster than the other, creating that "strong recollection" sensation upon the "same" scene being viewed milliseconds later by the opposite eye. However, this one fails to explain the phenomenon when other sensory inputs are involved, such as the auditive part, and especially the digital part.

If one, for instance, experience déjà vu of someone slapping the fingers on his/her left hand, then the déjà vu feeling is certainly not due to his/her right hand to be late on the left one. Also, persons with only one eye still report experiencing déjà vu or déjà vecu. The global phenomenon must therefore be narrowed down to the brain itself (say, one hemisphere would be late compared to the other one).
Considerable strength is added to this interpretation by the fact that computers experience very similar effects when inputs are processed in an unexpected order. This is known as a race condition, and is often responsible for subtle bugs in complex systems. some think it has link with disorders.

A clinical correlation has been found between the experience of déjà vu and disorders such as schizophrenia and anxiety, and the likelihood of the experience considerably increases with subjects having these conditions. However, the strongest pathological association of déjà vu is with temporal lobe epilepsy. This correlation has led some researchers to speculate that the experience of déjà vu is possibly a neurological anomaly related to improper electrical discharge in the brain. As most people suffer a mild (i.e. non-pathological) epileptic episode regularly (e.g. the sudden "jolt", a hypnagogic jerk, that frequently occurs just prior to falling asleep), it is conjectured that a similar (mild) neurological aberration occurs in the experience of déjà vu, resulting in an erroneous sensation of memory It has been reported that certain recreational drugs increase the chances of déjà vu occurring in the user. Some pharmaceutical drugs, when taken together, have also been implicated in the cause of déjà vu. Taiminen and Jääskeläinen (2001) reported the case of an otherwise healthy male who started experiencing intense and recurrent sensations of déjà vu on taking the drugs amantadine and phenylpropanolamine together to relieve flu symptoms.

He found the experience so interesting that he completed the full course of his treatment and reported it to the psychologists to write-up as a case study. Due to the dopaminergic action of the drugs and previous findings from electrode stimulation of the brain (e.g. Bancaud, Brunet-Bourgin, Chauvel, & Halgren, 1994), Taiminen and Jääskeläinen speculate that déjà vu occurs as a result of hyperdopaminergic action in the mesial temporal areas of the brain.
